Dear Ricki,
I want to start off by recognizing how proud I am of you. You have been through a LOT of shit in your life, and yet here you are, still doing your very best every day. It’s admirable how hard you work on yourself. All the reading, yoga, meditation, breath work, mental health walks, journaling, dancing and self-reflecting you do doesn’t go unnoticed by the universe, even if no one else sees it.
Your drive to want to help others and the world is a beautiful thing, don’t ever let that go. Even if others tell you there’s no point in having purpose. You always tell others that they have a good soul, but don’t forget your soul is good, too.
If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to give yourself more credit and grace. You often make yourself smaller, because you have some negative beliefs around taking up space. But that is total bullshit. You deserve to be seen and take up as much space as feels good. The world needs you. Because the world truly wouldn’t be the same without each and every soul that exists. We’re all here to add our own little piece to the world.
At the same time as you are being so kind to others, please don’t forget to stand up and advocate for yourself. Don’t let others walk all over you, all because you are trying to be nice. You will have some people that won’t like you on this path you’re walking, simply because you shine so bright. Make sure you set firm boundaries so that you protect your delicate heart. Boundaries are such a loving thing you can set for yourself and others, so try to shift your perspective from seeing them as a negative or harsh thing.
I also want to advise you to work on your goals every day. I know you have some big goals that seem scary when you look at them as a whole, but break it down and take baby steps. You will do some beautiful things in this life, but you must take the first step and start. I believe in you because I’ve already seen you do some amazing things. You have so much potential.
Take time each day to sit in silence and listen. Listen so that you can hear your soul speak, you can learn so much from yourself. Any question you can think of you have the answer inside yourself. You just have to create room for it to be birthed.
And remember to rest. The world can be so overstimulating, so just know that it’s not only valid, but necessary, to take time to rest every day. If you’re hyper productive, but burnt out, what’s the point? We’re here to enjoy life, so remember to slow down, breathe, and be in the present moment.
You are so beautiful, kind and very loved. I wish you could truly see how many people you’ve touched, how many lives you’ve impacted. Drop the story that people secretly dislike you, while some people might, they’re not your people, so it doesn’t matter. If someone is in your life, it’s because they care about you and WANT to be around you. Believe the things people tell you. And at the same time, be honest with others about how you feel. Don’t try to be friends with someone if you don’t like them, that’s just leading them on and confusing them. It’s okay to not be friends with every person you encounter. Let yourself gravitate towards the strong connections, and nurture those. Your life will blossom with love and light.
I want you to keep being your authentic self, it’s one of the most beautiful things about you. You don’t hide who you are for anyone. And that didn’t come easy, that took hard work. You inspire others to be themselves too, when you let your light shine.
Thank you for hanging on through the hard times, there has been a lot of them, but you’ve made it through every single one. Not only did you survive, but you learned something important each time, and that is priceless.
I love you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do in this world. Shine bright little cat. I’m rooting for you.
Love always,
Ricki
